Bo-gum is honestly the best actor I've ever seen.... his facial expressions and all the emotions he shows.. I've never seen them in anyone else's face <3 This drama is simply one of my favorites and I don't have many favs so.. :)

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It starts as a nice romantic story. For the first few episodes, it's quite entertaining but not something particularly exceptional. But then, as the story evolves, it turns out to be a very powerful, full of suspense, amazing drama!!!! You just cannot stop watching it!!!!
The two lead actors were fantastic in their performance! The same were the supporting actors and especially the two men, the prince's friends. Park Bo Gum was so charming and had that commendable ability to change various face emotional expressions in just seconds! I was so amazed by his acting!
It's an awesome kdrama! I loved it!!!!

Fantastic!
Brilliant Joseon era costume drama! Wonderful world building: stories in this Dynasty are by far the best! The humorous flair coupled the entertaining romance, made one extraordinary series! Wonderfully captivating actors Kim Yoo Jung and Park Bo Gum had a really cute chemistry together, which really made the drama absolutely fabulous! Loved it!

Let me sleep!
What else can I say? I hardly ate, peed, or slept during two days, watching this non stop, as I kept telling myself "just ten more minutes". Park Bo Gum is definitely one reason. I indeed think of him as one of the best actors I've seen; I found myself comparing him to Gong Yoo (Coffee Prince, such a coïncidence )! He is attractive and manly. And who can resist his smile when he raises his brows, like a puppy? <3 Don't you want to just hug him?
Also, I loved the whole cast. There were a lot of actors I'm used to now and hold dear. The female lead was beautiful and Chae Soo Bin stayed in my heart after "I am not a robot".
The story was a bit deja vu, but it was funny and moving and skillfully twisted, to the very end.
Yeah, I agree the Prince could have shed a tear for his friend (which one?) who died to save Ra-on (I won't tell which one...). Mister Director, did you accidentally cut that scene?

Good enough

One of the two period dramas that aired at the same time, Love in the moonlight had to compete with Scarlet heart, a drama that occupied most of the male actors of Korea and had in its arsenal big idol names like I.U. and Baekhyun from Exo. However, Moonlight managed to hit the big ratings and still gets the buzz even though it finished. That is mostly due to the good story: a girl who pretends to be a boy her whole life, ends up becoming a eunuch to serve the crowned prince, that ends up falling for her. Then there is the chemistry of the two actors, even though the girl was under-aged in real life, but still the age gap wasn't that obvious. Also the delightful performance of Bo Gum not only aided the drama, but also gained him a big fan base and surely future roles as well. I would like to add the good performance by Jinyoung as well, even though his story was side lined and it would have been better if his background story would have been explained better. Unfortunately the last episode was a little disappointing, as the story could have concluded in the previous episode. So, 6 out of 10.

Simply amazing
Love in the moonlight is a beautiful period drama with some amazing acting. For how young the 4 main leads were at the time of shooting (2016), i cannot do anything but to applaud every single one of them for a brilliant job. Park Bo gum carried himself like a proper royalty, he possesed grace, manners but also compassion. Kim Yoo jung was very cute and funny, very very young though. But lets just spare a moment to talk about Kwag Dong jeong's killer cheekbones, combat skills and ability to defy gravity!! I really enjoyed his character! As to the plot, well, i must admit it was a little long winded and i had to fast forward a few times as it was getting a little boring at places. I wanted to mention the belgian malinois that couldnt possibly be there at that time, but then again, there was a guy jumping 15meters high and slashing people off with a samurai sword without a single drop of blood, so probably not so much of an issue.. :) Also worth mentioning is the absolutely stunning attire. All and all, very well done to 4 young actors for putting an excellent show.

Starts as a nice romance but keeps building in suspense and palace intrigue until right to the end, The acting of the leads is all very good with. Kim Yoo-Jeong (in her first reengage lead I believe) exceptional. They are helped by some really good character actors.
My only personal criticism is I think the leads ended up with the wrong lovers. The Crown Prince / King already had a beautiful, intelligent Queen. And. Kwak Dong-Yeon died for no good reason and would have made a good husband for. Hong Ra-on who was beautiful and brave but not actually all that bright, Would any King really marry he daughter of a rebel ?
Still this is a good fantasy historical drama with some fine acting, music and the costumes ...

Good in its own way
The start of this show was really good. Interesting. Captivating. However with the progression of ploy, things started to become dull. Characters become dull, by the 11 episode, i was just dragging myself to complete it so that I know the ending, even ending wasn't satisfying... However the male lead's acting was quite good. He is probably the only reason I managed to finish this.

The reason Moonlight could get good ratings even though it was against Scarlet heart- ryeo was because of it's plot. The story also ties off the characters story in the last episode, although it could have been better. The few things which I think could have made this drama better are 1. The character Jinyoung plays, his story got sidelined although it was a given because he was a side character. It would've been better if his story got explained well. 2. The end episode felt rushed because they didn't give us Kwak Dong-yeon 's character's background story and the second last scene where he looks over Bo gum 's character, the reference and how he got into the story.

I wanted to give an 8 but I take away 2 stars because I'll never understand why the crown prince in final episode was never shown lamenting the death of his friend who not only saved the prince's life by putting his own at risk in previous occasions but also ended up dying protecting his lady love.
On a separate note bo gum has the talent of captivating anyone with his facial expressions.

Loses its way
Korean historical romantic dramas draw you in to an ahistorical world, relying on the power of the acting, compelling relationships between the protagonists and a propulsive plot to carry you along for the ride.
This series failed to do that for me. The romance was too anodyne and the plot meandered through the second half.
It is still moderately interesting entertainment if you rise above its shortcomings. But there are so many wildly entertaining examples of the genre that this pales by comparison.

Most powerless prince ever

The prince was maybe the weakest one I've ever seen, completely clueless about what's going on, and that was a gigantic flaw for drama(every drama needs their leads to solve the storyline, don't they?) throughout the whole series, it made me feel like the prince wasn't really concentrated on all the ongoing conspiracy: he's sleeping on all the incidents details, he's not gathering his loyal people, and he's not determined enough to sentence corrupted ministers.
Overall, as a historic it's good enough, and the acting of the leads were outstanding. However, the story was boring. I'm not feeling anything after watching, except cringe, I skipped a lot.

The series wasnt at all engaging. Watched it just because i am a fan of bo gum. But may be he even know, the series isnt that good. Both the leads acting seems fake, especially their laughs. The story okay, but the screen writing and the for the acting, i would have to say i didnt enjoy the series. I just keep looking at the handsome face of bogumi <3.

Brilliant
Brilliant another really good series!
This one has some really funny parts. The storyline was great so much going on it will really keeps you entertained.
This is the second series I have watched with Kim Yoo Jung and I think she has grown so much as an actress.
Overall this is a good series to watch, yes there is some slow bits but it really does not take away from the storyline. All the actors play their part well to bring this series to life.

Good storyline
I appreciated the storyline of the drama but I can't deny I felt bored at some moments because it was long. I was more focused during the first and last episodes. I really liked the 19th episode though, with the behind the scenes of the drama.
