NFL Blitz Returns This January
Ea is resurrecting NFL Blitz in the nick of time for the goal of the NFL season, and IT looks comparable a come back to the series' arcade roots.
The series, which has lain dormant since 2005's Midway-developed Linebacker blitzing: The League, is now owned away EA and given its recent success with the excellent NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, the company is as wel hoping to animate NFL Blitz.

The new NFL Safety blitz looks to return the franchise to its colonnade roots, and from what we've seen founded on our hands-on time, it looks like this was an easy score for EA. Aside from 30-yard first off downs and 2-minute living quarters, you'll see post-play elbow drops, players launching themselves crosswise the field like missiles to do incredulous tackles, and guys antimonopoly acquiring the e'er-loving stuffing beaten out of them without a single yellow penalty flag seeable.
A with the new NBA Jam titles, the upcoming Safety blitz allows you to gain currency by playing the game that stool be used to unlock cheats, hidden players and other extras.
Yet the game lacks any sort of authoritative release date, but the company claims it will appear in January 2012. As much as I'm giddy for this revelation — seriously, I loved the new NBA Jam — I have a few concerns.
